There are some interestingly suggestions in the Football Transfer Tavern today as talkSPORT claim that Paris Saint Germain are readying a bid for Manchester United and Chelsea target Ivan Rakitic.
Midfielder Rakitic is expected to be one of the most coveted players of the winter transfer window following a spectacular start to the season at Sevilla.
Despite the summer exodus at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, which saw star men Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo departing, Rakitic remained with the La Liga club and has since become a key player in Unai Emery’s side. The Croatian international midfielder has found the net in his 15 La Liga outings and his fine form has now reportedly courted attention from England and Italy.
Liverpool are one of several side who are understood to be considering the former Schalke man again as Brendan Rodgers tries to add to his side in the current transfer window.
But today’s reports indicates that Ligue 1 moneybags PSG are also keen on the 25-year-old and have already made contact with his current club to sound them out over his availability.
The Switzerland-born midfielder, who arrived at Sevilla in a bargain £2.2m deal from Schalke in January 2011, has just over a year and a half left on his current contract and is valued at around £11m.
