Queens Park Rangers: Fans had mixed reactions to reported training ground breakthrough

The reaction from some QPR fans on Twitter towards a reported breakthrough in the long search for a new training ground was decidedly mixed.

West London Sport reported that the club are nearing an agreement with Imperial College to acquire the site of a proposed new training ground, with the news shared by the media outlet on their Twitter channel @WestLondonSport.

This potentially crucial breakthrough comes just a couple of weeks after the R’s were forced to abandon plans to build a training ground at Warren Farm following a legal challenge and opposition from residents’ groups, as per West London Sport. It meant that a project which was first mooted way back in January 2012 ultimately had to be shelved.

As noted by West London Sport, the club already has a presence at the Imperial College site, which is the base for their academy teams.
