Rangers hosted Dundee at Ibrox on Saturday and after losing to Celtic in their last match before the international break they had a point to prove. They made it look easy though, with a comfortable 4-0 win that was set rolling when Lassana Coulibaly, back from injury, scored the opener inside four minutes.

Coulibaly has looked like the real deal since he joined the club. His dynamic midfield performances have been a joy to behold and there’s an argument to say that the Gers wouldn’t have qualified for the Europa league had they not managed to sign the impressive youngster from Angers on-loan. Now it will be up to Steven Gerrard to get the 22-year-old signed on a permanent deal.
If the Bluenoses can get Lassana Coulibaly to sign up permanently it will be a huge coup for the club. At such a young age there’s no telling how good the Malian can get and with one of the best midfielder’s to come out of Europe directly coaching home in Stevie G he has a real platform to excel. In the short-term, the next fixture Rangers have is away at Villarreal and they’ll need Coulibaly to be on top of his game if they’re to get anything from that.

Would score a 100 a season if he played up front

The Gers will be loving having Coulibaly back and will be hoping he can keep his form up and remain injury free for the rest of the campaign.
