The Gers have made a solid start to their European campaign so far this season with impressive results against Feyenoord and now Porto.

Manager Steven Gerrard surely would’ve taken this position before the season started – with his side sitting second in the group and level on points with Porto with three games remaining.

Qualification to the knockout phase is currently in their hands, with Swedish defender Helander playing a key role in Portugal.

The 26-year-old contributed immensely in shutting Porto out after Rangers nicked an equaliser through Alfredo Morelos – remaining both solid and composed.

He won 3 aerial duels on the night and finished the game with an impressive pass success rate of 93%, as per WhoScored.

Now, due to the great result and Helander’s display, fans have lauded the centre-back for his efforts.
