Glasgow Rangers have had a fantastic start to the new season.
As is stands, Steven Gerrard’s side are top of the Premiership, having won nine of their first 11 games and drawing the other two. Their latest victory against Celtic on Saturday shows they have what it takes to mount a real title challenge this term; and they are also in the Europa League group stages, with their first match in that tournament coming against Standard Liege tomorrow evening.

Of course, this is a peculiar season as the coronavirus pandemic continues to hang over the beautiful game. It has already caused problems in Scotland, with Celtic, Aberdeen and St Mirren amongst the sides to have games postponed; and it has now been revealed by the Daily Record that the SPFL plan to give 3-0 losses to teams who cannot fulfill matches.

This has attracted plenty of attention from Rangers supporters, and it is fair to say that many are not happy – they have continually had problems with the SPFL and its chief executive Neil Doncaster over the past few months. These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Let’s see what the Rangers fans had to say
Changing the rules midway through a season again. Surely, this is the end of Doncaster this time?

Scottish football must honestly be the worst run game in Europe. Embarrassing

How can you punish teams in the future having already let teams off with it. Pathetic. Ridiculous. But to be honest nothing less than you’d expect from those clowns.

Start a completion with no sponsor then try and change the rules 1/4 of the way through. Why wasn’t the cup competitions suspended that would have created a space in the fixture list. They were happy enough to bring games from last season across to this season.

To ensure the sporting integrity of the league forfeit rule would need to be backdated to start of the season. To treat clubs differently going forward to would lead to civil war in the game something I am not sure @spfl care about as this will be to benefit 1 club as always 🐍

In the middle of a pandemic and the SPFL beaks want to penalise teams who’s players become ill. Resign! You’re not fit for purpose.
