According to Football Insider, Glasgow Rangers could receive a £7m windfall as both George Edmundson and Filip Helander are being linked with moves away from the club this summer.

Rangers to make windfall

Edmundson made the move to Derby County on loan in the winter transfer window, while Helander has recently been linked with a switch to either Aston Villa or Leicester (Aftonbladet).

This latest report suggests that both could leave permanently in the summer. The 55-time Scottish champions are believed to be looking for £6m for Helander, while Edmundson would cost around £1m.

Debatable

In Edmundson's case, it would certainly make sense if he were to be sold. He made just two appearances for the Gers in the first half of the season (Transfermarkt) before receiving a seven-game ban for breaking lockdown regulations (BBC). It seems that he has no future at Ibrox.

Helander, though, has proven to be an important player for Steven Gerrard. Incredibly, since moving to Ibrox in 2019, he is yet to lose a Premiership match in which he has been involved. He has grown into one of the most reliable players in the team and, as they prepare for a potential Champions League run next term, it would be a shame to lose a player of his quality.

In other news, Rangers eye this in-demand winger.
