Josh McPake is set for a loan exit from Rangers to Harrogate Town in the January transfer window, according to Football Insider.
As per the news outlet, McPake has finalised the terms ahead of his move to the EFL League Two club, and he will link up with them on January 4th after putting pen to paper recently.
Should McPake leave Rangers?
The 19-year-old was reportedly set to be in attendance last night as Simon Weaver’s team took on Carlisle United, a match which unfortunately had to be abandoned because the pitch was frozen over.
McPake wise to go out on loan
McPake is wise to go out on loan again having spent the 2020/21 term so far on loan at Morton in the Scottish Championship.
He had done fairly well there, grabbing two assists in 10 games in all competitions (Transfermarkt), while his manager, David Hopkin, expressed his delight at the player’s display on his debut, describing him as ‘excellent’ and someone who ‘gives you something different’ (Not The Old Firm).
However, the youngster may have struggled to get himself back into the winning team that Steven Gerrard has created from within his current squad, and so a chance to prove himself again, this time in English football, will not hinder his hopes of eventually breaking into the first team at Ibrox under the Liverpool and England legend.
