Rangers: RB Leipzig eye Ianis Hagi

According to Romanian outlet Digisport, RB Leipzig are interested in signing Glasgow Rangers’ Ianis Hagi during this January transfer window.
Leipzig eye Hagi
Hagi only completed his permanent move to Ibrox last summer, while Leipzig recently confirmed the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Salzburg.
However, the Hungary international is set to miss six weeks of action through injury. As such, Leipzig are looking at Hagi as cover as they enter an important phase of their season.
Unlikely
This has been a mixed campaign so far for the £4.05m-valued 22-year-old (Transfermarkt). His arrival was met by lots of fanfare, but his early form was met with disappointment. That led to a spell out of the starting XI.
However, all in all, he has four goals and ten assists in all competitions this season – far from poor stats for a player who does not play from the off in every game. Steven Gerrard has previously praised the former Genk man, calling him “outstanding” last February, and he will be hoping he can have a big impact in the next few months.
Do you want Hagi to leave?
Yes

No

Leipzig are a controversial club, especially in Germany, as explained by The Guardian, but they would represent a significant step up in quality it must be said. They currently sit second in the Bundesliga, while they will face Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16. There have been positive signs from Hagi so far, but it does seem unlikely that he would already make such a leap or that the Gers would even want to lose him yet.
In other news, Rangers fans rage at this journalist’s claim.
