Former Glasgow Rangers flop Fabio Cardoso believes that it is only a matter of time before Alfredo Morelos leaves Ibrox.
Morelos soon to depart
The 24-year-old Colombia international was heavily linked with a move away during the previous transfer window, with him reportedly agreeing personal terms with Lille.

However, he ended up staying with the 54-time Scottish champions. Cardoso, though, believes he will not be north of the border much longer. He said:
“It will be hard for Rangers to keep Alfredo for much longer.
“He’s done very well there, he’s a goal machine. He’s a physical player who has improved a lot in Scotland.
“He has worked hard to improve and be smarter on the pitch.
“But if I had to make a prediction, I’d say that Alfredo will move in the next year.”
Hard to disagree
Ever since making the move to the Gers in 2017, Morelos has been fantastic for the club. He has 84 goals in 155 appearances in all competitions, has broken Ally McCoist’s record for the most goals scored for the Gers in European competition, and he was recently called “outstanding” by manager Steven Gerrard.

It is hard for clubs in Scotland, even the likes of Rangers and Celtic, to hold on to their star players for too long though. The fact of the matter is, the Premiership lacks the prestige and more importantly financial backing of a number of other divisions across Europe. All Rangers can do is secure a good fee when he does depart.
