According to The Athletic, Glasgow Rangers target John Lundstram could earn £40,000 a week when he signs his next deal.
Lundstram could be Gers top earner
The Gers have been linked with a move for the £7.2m-valued 26-year-old Sheffield United midfielder (Transfermarkt), who will be out of contract with the Blades at the end of the season.

As a free transfer, he could well be set to earn £40,000 a week. That would make him the Gers’ top earner, above the likes of Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos.
Worth it?
Lundstram would no doubt be an interesting option for Steven Gerrard at Ibrox. After all, he has Premier League experience under his belt, having scored five times in 34 matches in the top flight last term, and he still has plenty of football left in front of him.

This season, though, the Gers are performing particularly well. You feel that a top earner would have to bring something special to the side, although Lundstram would be a solid option, he is hardly the kind of player that will excite the club’s supporters. For that money, Steven Gerrard and co could well do with looking elsewhere and seeing what else they can get in this current market.
