Rangers luring £900k Premier League record holder to Glasgow would be a tremendous pull

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have again seen their expectations come true and again they still find themselves behind fierce rivals Celtic. This summer, the Gers will hope for signings who can have a real hand in challenging Celtic for the Scottish Premiership.

After years of trouble at Rangers, Celtic had a lot of time to improve and surpass the team Rangers ever were. This has become a reality and whilst Celtic go from strength to strength, Rangers have had to settle to become second best permanently.

If they finally want to amend this, Rangers need to spend money wisely and efficiently this summer in the hope that those players can have an influential impact straight away.

Us punters think that a good acquisition would be West Brom’s Gareth Barry, a player valued at £900,000 on Transfermarkt. The 37-year-old has still been at the heart of the Baggies midfield despite their desperate struggles this term as relegation is staring them directly in the face.

Barry has made 30 appearances in all competitions thus far but instead of the Championship, Rangers should attempt to lure him to Ibrox and help bring stability to the Gers. Despite his tender age, Barry is a super-experienced midfielder who still has a lot to offer any team.

The all-time record holder when it comes to Premier League appearances, the former England international would be quite the coup at Ibrox.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Although many might be put off by his age, Gareth Barry is a player who could bring so much to Rangers and help them push further towards challenging Celtic. Barry has been at the peak of his career in the Premier League and now we think it’s time he came to Ibrox to improve another team.
