Liverpool’s campaign has been something of a mixed bag.
After a slow and frustrating start to the season, the Reds have gradually recovered and now remain firmly in the race for a top-four finish in the Premier League. They are also still alive in the Champions League, though they must overturn a deficit against Galatasaray in the round of 16 if they are to progress further.
Several of Liverpool’s big summer signings have struggled to make an immediate impact.
Alexander Isak and Jeremie Frimpong have largely disappointed, while Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez took time to find their rhythm. Hugo Ekitike has arguably been the standout addition so far.
With the campaign approaching its conclusion, attention is already turning toward the summer transfer window — and Liverpool may have just been handed encouragement in their pursuit of a long-term midfield target.
Real Madrid Ready to Sell Camavinga
Real Madrid are reportedly open to selling Eduardo Camavinga this summer, a development that could alert several Premier League clubs including Liverpool.
The French midfielder joined Madrid from Rennes in 2021 and has since enjoyed considerable success at the Santiago Bernabéu, winning multiple major honours during his time in Spain. Despite that success, the Spanish giants are believed to be planning a midfield reshuffle ahead of next season.
According to journalist Matteo Moretto, who frequently collaborates with Fabrizio Romano, Camavinga is not considered untouchable as Madrid prepare for potential changes in the middle of the park.
“He’s not untouchable; there are already Premier League clubs interested in him. For now, Real Madrid hasn’t set a price, but it’s clear they don’t want to go below 50 million (euros),” Moretto wrote for Marca, per TEAMtalk.
Camavinga — previously praised as a “physical and technical” midfielder by former Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti — has long been admired by Liverpool’s recruitment team. The prospect of Madrid being willing to sell could finally give the Merseyside club the opportunity to pursue a deal for the 22-year-old.
Liverpool have been searching for the right midfield balance for several seasons, and Camavinga’s blend of athleticism, technical quality and experience at the highest level makes him an attractive option. If Real Madrid truly are prepared to listen to offers, the Reds may see this summer as the perfect moment to finally make their move.
