The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern thought that their business was done with until the summer…
The Red Devils had a pretty quiet start to 2017, with Jose Mourinho seemingly happy with the squad at his disposal.
It would appear as though their business isn’t yet over though, and whilst the Premier League window might be closed – markets abroad, specifically China, remain wide open.
That fact could foresee a pretty significant change at Old Trafford, too, with Dean Jones of the Bleacher Report noting on Twitter that Chinese outfit Shandong Luneng remain locked in talks with Ashley Young over a potential Chinese switch.
See the Tweet, which seems to suggest that a deal could yet be secured, below…
Shandong Luneng are still trying to sign Ashley Young before close of Chinese transfer window – remain in talks with representatives

Whilst the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern were expecting a quiet February, many of them certainly aren’t opposed to the idea of Ashley Young leaving the club. The English midfielder is, at best, a squad player at Old Trafford – with Mourinho not really trusting the English veteran with a regular starting role at present.
He has made just 2 Premier League starts this season, with a host of depth available at Man Utd both defensively and offensively.
It is going to be an interesting few days at Old Trafford, according to our landlord, with Wayne Rooney also touted with a Chinese switch. The Chinese window closes at the end of the month, so any deal will need to be completed quickly.
