Resignation Refused.

In a sensational turn of events, reports suggest that in a shock move, Carlo Ancelotti has handed in his resignation to Chelsea FC.  Apparently the resignation request was immediately rejected by Chelsea, and the club has said that the rumours are ‘absolute nonsense’ but has it been coming?

The last few weeks have been tricky to say the least, for Ancelotti.  3 defeats in their last 4 games has seen Man Utd draw level with Chelsea, and even Man City down in fourth close to within 3 points.

The defeats to first Liverpool, Sunderland at home and then Birmingham on Saturday have sent shockwaves through Stamford Bridge, with questions being asked of the team, the squad and Ancelotti himself.  What was possibly worse was the manner in which Chelsea lost, failing to break down a resilient Birmingham City and being thoroughly outplayed by Sunderland the week before.  Without Lampard, Terry and Essien, does Ancelotti still know what he is doing?

Also, the past weeks have seen the Alex and the talismanic skipper Terry sidelined, possibly for months and has seen the strange departure of Ray Wilkins and the even stranger promotion of Michael Emenalo from chief scout to first team coach.  Is there set to be more movement at Stamford Bridge this week?
