The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are always looking forward to their team’s next game at the moment. The Pep Guardiola-led team have been on fire this term, and are far and away the best side in the division at present. They look on course to secure the Premier League trophy at the moment, and with confidence flowing, every game is an exciting one if you’re a Citizen.
Next up for the Manchester outfit comes the visit of Southampton, who have had a mixed campaign so far. With Mauricio Pellegrino still yet to fully get the best out of his talented squad, they are a side that is continuing to bubble in the Premier League.
It’s going to be an unpredictable evening for the Citizens, then, and another thing that is unpredictable is who Pep Guardiola is going to select in his starting eleven. The Spaniard has been keen to rotate for much of the campaign so far, and so more of the same could be expected.
One man that fans seem to want in the starting eleven, though, is Gabriel Jesus. Having come on against Huddersfield and changed the game, with a touch from him eventually leading to Raheem Sterling’s winner, the Brazilian certainly earned as much during his short time on the field at the weekend.
Indeed, it seems that a majority of fans want to see him from the start this time around, with a whopping 78% of those polled responding with a resounding yes when questioned on that matter. Having already bagged 8 Premier League goals this season, it’s no real surprise that he’s such a popular man. His return to the team could well mean a seat on the bench for Sergio Aguero, who has been trading places with the Brazilian all season long.
