Just the moment Barcelona FC have expressed their desire to sign Robinho, the Brazilian and Manchester City striker, the player is already willing to make a move, once he gets a chance to sign for the European champions. The young Brazilian striker, who had been signed by the Eastlands during 2008, has never produced the quality of football that was expected from him for the Manchester club.
With the signings of Arsenal’s Emanuel Adebayor and Manchester United’s Carlos Tevez, Manchester City really does not need to worry about the strikers, who they have upfront. However, one thing is obvious that Robinho does not want to fight for his place and expects to get selected every time his side plays. According to some reports in Spain, Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is a huge fan of the Brazilian striker and would love to have him in his side. He is even ready to swap Thierry Henry for the Brazilian.
Now, one needs to see if Mark Hughes does have Robinho in his plans till the winter transfer window opens. For the striker, he is already fantasizing the opportunity of playing for the European champions with some of the great players like Lionel Messi, Xavi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

This kind of lazy, sensationalist journalism is unbelievable. at no stage has he EVER said he wants to leave city. in fact , in the middle of all this speculation around him and barca, he’s said that he wants to win trphies with city and said that he wants to stay. all he’s said is that ANY footballer would be pleased to have barca show interest in them. isn’t that a given?? All this article does is confirm the general opinion that writers (and i use the term loosely) like you are only in employment because no other proffesion would entertain you
Hey Phil,
First of all tone down on your comments, as it is kinda too rude for anyone, even if you have the knowledge, still you should not say so.
And go back some months, probably June, he was actually willing for a transfer in the Catalans and there were terms, if not exact the same as fantasizing, that described his interest in the club…. Probably, if Eto would have moved to City, instead of Milan, then you would have definitely seen the Brazilian at Nou Camp.
Ask him, am sure, he would prefer Catalans over Eastlands any day.
I don know either of you guys, but am sure that things can be less rude in a football hangout, and as good as this is… 🙂
Ron, Phil has every right to critise shoddy “journalism” such as this. he actual facts are and to kill the argument right here:
Txiki Begiristain, the Director of Football at Barcelona on record “We were interested in summer but since we have not spoken with City”.
Mark Hughes on record as saying “there is no chance of selling Robinho during the winter transfer window or next summer.”
Robinho on record “I am not forcing a departure from England and I have no problems with my coach.”
So other than the nonsense printed on here, what possessed the the author to link two and two together? He has come up with 5 and its shoddy.
