Paul Robinson – 8. The quieter of the two keepers but some great saves. Is this the best form he’s been in?
Salgado – 7. Got forward well but gives the impression of being a headless chicken. Fun to watch though.
Samba – 8. A rock at the back. Must be Allardyce’s favourite player.
Nelsen – 8. Defended really well with Samba.
Givet (Chimbonda, HT) – 5. After a hilarious collision with the ref went off at half time. Chimbonda was quiet.
Pedersen – Goals 46, 64. (Goulon, 72) 8. Won the match with two great finishes.
Jones – 7. An assured performance, definitely one for the future, in more than one position.
Diouf – 6. A quieter game for one of the hated players in the Premiership.
Hoilett (Diouf, 64) – 7. Lively performance but drifted out of the game.
Dunn – 7. A quality player but never seems to move.
Roberts – 7. Full of running.
Friedel – 5. Under pressure at every opportunity, stood up to it well most of the time but had a torrid time.
Young – 5. Didn’t deal well with Pedersen.
Clark – 5. Looked under pressure from crosses, corners and throws all day.
Dunne – 6. Some vital blocks and tackles but not a pleasant afternoon for the veteran.
Warnock – 7. Got forward well but caused problems by Roberts’ hard work.
Downing – 6. Great crosser of the ball but didn’t show it enough today.
Bannan – 6. Definitely one for the future but seemed rushed.
Hogg (Herd, 80) – 5. Similar to Bannan but not enough impact in the middle of the park.
Young – 7. Should’ve really had a goal, given the chances and time he had on the ball.
Ireland (Pires, 67) – 6. Might be off in January but in a rare start showed glimpses of his Man City form. For Pires, is there life in the old dog yet?
Agbonlahor (Delfouneso, 78) – 6. Doesn’t seem fully fit yet and desperately needs a goal.
