Saturday’s BIG 6 Premiership Predictor

Another monster weekend of games in the world’s greatest league, the Barclay’s Premiership. So in running in kick off order here’s our predictions for tomorrow’s matches. Do say if you agree, disagree or simply don’t care either way but wish to still have a platform to voice your complete disinterest.

Bolton vs QPR

Both sides line on the back of form you couldn’t describe in more flattering terms than ‘utterly miserable’. QPR have flattered to deceive on so many occasions you get the feeling that Mark Hughes is simply wanting to get QPR over the finish line as a Premiership club and then get spending. Bolton have spent most of the season being awful in equal measure home and away so it’s impossible to tip them. Prediction 0-2.

Aston Villa vs Fulham

Villa have earned only 5 points from their last 6 games and you don’t need to be a genius to work out that the absence of a decent striker is killing their season off game after game. Fulham by contrast have almost and I say almost, having to cope with an embarrassment of riches on the striker front. Villa are 8 points clear of a relegation scrap and I don’t see that improving any tomorrow. Prediction 0-3.

Chelsea vs Stoke

The Di Matteo love in will be put to the test as Tony Pulis visits The Bridge. The Potters boss must smell some points here after the West Brom fiasco. But Stoke’s form has been shocking. 6 points from 6 games and all generated by home wins against Premiership new-boys Norwich and Swansea. Fernando Torres has now not scored since 1989. Prediction 2-1.

Sunderland vs Liverpool

Martin O’Neill will be expecting to win this and I think he’s on to something. Liverpool are the most unconvincing ‘big’ club in the Premiership. The highlight of this season’s campaign having been pinching the Carling Cup at the death from the European super giants Cardiff and making Luis Suarez a household name for all the wrong reasons. Prediction 1-0.

Wolves vs Blackburn

The glamour tie. Where to start? Two football clubs travelling at speed down the tubes. Blackburn up to their ears in hock and Wolves with a Board of Directors who think hitting a button marked ‘Self Destruct’ is an executive stress stress release toy.  This game is likely to be un-watchable and an un-rewarding experience whatever the result. Prediction 0-0.

Everton vs Tottenham

This is likely to be a cracking game, marred only by the managers being asked stupid questions. ‘So Harry, have the FA been in touch yet?’ ‘Well David, with Harry looking to take the England hot seat, would you consider a move to the bright lights of North London?’ Shoot me now. Prediction 2-3.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
