Celtic will be hoping for better results in weeks to come after such a disappointing run of games under Brendan Rodgers recently.
The Hoops will be hoping for improvements in the near future as they continue to push for silverware, despite suffering bad results in Europe and domestically. Although, the Glasgow club did receive some positive news on the transfer front recently, as according to The Sunday Mirror (07/10; page 65) (via HITC), Celtic target Nick Powell has turned down Wigan Athletic’s latest transfer offer.
Nick Powell is out of contract with the Latics in the summer, and it would appear that he may be ready to leave the DW Stadium at some stage in the future after a couple of successful seasons with the club.
The attacker played a huge part in their promotion push last season and has been one of the standout performers in the current campaign.
But, it now appears as if Celtic have been alerted after the 24-year-old reportedly turned down a contract offer.
However, they aren’t the only team interested, with Brighton and Hove Albion and Burnley also in the hunt.
Nick Powell would be an incredible coup for any club having enjoyed a number of successful seasons in England.
The Hoops could do with some inspiration at this moment in time and they certainly received a boost in the race for the attacking midfielder, with contract talks seemingly going nowhere at the DW Stadium.
Although, a move to the Premier League could be too hard to turn down for the former Manchester United man.
