Celtic fans were given the unusual news yesterday that their striker Leigh Griffiths would be taking some time out of football to work on some off the field problems. The Hoops released a statement on the club website where they outlined their support for the 28-year-old, and there isn’t a single Celtic fan who isn’t 100% behind the striker.
Brendan Rodgers: “We’ll give Leigh every support as he takes some time out.” https://t.co/ex7LBqQWOi

The Bhoys absolutely love Griffiths as the striker has become a fan favourite at Parkhead. In his time at the club, he’s shown loyalty, passion and ultimately a goalscoring touch that the fans have come to love about him and they’re more than prepared to stand by him now, in his low points, just as they have done previously during his highs. In 203 games for the Hoops he’s netted 104 times, and when he returns the fans will be hoping he can make that a double century of goals.
Griffiths has been an absolute staple of this Celtic team over the last few seasons and his influence on the pitch and in the dressing room will be sorely missed whilst he takes a break from football. But the supporters won’t be rushing him back and will hope that whatever demons he’s facing off the pitch can be resolved before he tries to make a return. It’s in these moments where the fans understand that football isn’t the most important thing in the world, and they’re more than happy to stand by and help their struggling striker.

The Bhoys have full faith in Griffiths to overcome his issues and come back stronger and will hope their frontman can get back on his feet as soon as possible, for his own sake rather than for the teams.
