If you haven’t already heard, Celtic were back to their brilliant best yesterday when they clubbed St Johnstone 6-0 at McDiarmid Park. The Hoops were in control right from the off and when James Forrest got going there really was no stopping him as he went on to score a first-half quadruple.
TAKE A BOW, JAMES FORREST

It truly was a day that the 27-year-old will likely never forget and the way he drummed St Johnstone in their own backyard was a sight to behold. Up until this game, Forrest had only managed to bag himself a fairly meagre two goals in 17 appearances this season. That changed dramatically, though, as he put the ball past Zander Clark four times in the space of just half an hour.
His first goal came to open the scoring in the 15th minute as Brendan Rodgers’ side made good on their early dominance and from that point on, Clark had little to do other than pick the ball out of his net on a poor afternoon for the home side. Odsonne Edouard made it 2-0 soon after Forrest’s opener and from there it all went downhill for St Johnstone as Forrest got going and bagged himself another three before half-time.

James Forrest surely on his way to becoming one of Celtics all time great Number 49’s.

The Hoops will have loved watching Forrest go to work on St Johnstone and will be keen to see him continue his form into their next match against Hibs.
