Celtic suffered defeat at the hands of Hibernian yesterday, which has forced Brendan Rodgers’ side to take a backseat in the Scottish Premiership title race.
The Hoops will need to ensure consistency if they are to secure the title, as they continue to face stiff competition from the likes of Rangers and Kilmarnock in the current campaign.
And, it appears as if the Glasgow club are planning for a possible January swoop, as according to The Sunday People (16/12; page 49) (via HITC), Celtic are watching Fran Sol.
Interestingly, Fran Sol has managed to score 15 goals in 18 appearances this season, which has caught the eye of a number of clubs, including Celtic, Rangers, Derby County and Swansea.
It’s thought that Celtic have been watching the attacker, who currently plays his football for Dutch side Willem II.
Of course, after witnessing Moussa Dembele’s departure back in the summer transfer window, perhaps Sol will be drafted in as a direct replacement for the Frenchman.
Moussa Dembele was prolific during his time at Celtic Park as he managed to help the Hoops secure a number of domestic trophies, so Rodgers could look to Sol as his replacement.
The Hoops could do with bringing in an attacker to help lighten the load on Odsonne Edouard’s shoulders, as he has been one of the main contributors in the current campaign.
