Celtic look to have finally found a centre-back to add to their side this summer as they look to improve their backline.
The Croatian only just joined the Foxes on the Premier League’s deadline day in a £13million move, however, it appears he will be playing his football at Parkhead for the 2018/19 season.
Brendan Rodgers is desperate to add reinforcements to his defence as the club have looked shaky at times, whilst there has also been uncertainty with Dedryck Boyata and his future at the club.
Benkovic witnessed the club advance to the group stages of the Europa League on Thursday evening and could look to make his debut for the Hoops when they meet Old Firm rivals Rangers on Sunday at Parkhead.
Benkovic must be highly-rated by Leicester if they were to originally splash out on him, however, with their options at centre-back, a move to Celtic will benefit him.
The 21-year-old should help to improve the defence, whilst also providing cover should any of the current squad hit a rough patch of form, or indeed leave Celtic Park before the window slams shut.
Valued at £9.9m by Transfermarkt, he will be looking to make a real impression as he will want to head back to the King Power Stadium and force his way into the side next season.
