Celtic may look to be active in the January transfer market this winter as they continue to defend their Scottish Premiership title.
The Bhoys are believed to be working on bringing a number of attacking options to Celtic Park to help them with firepower, however, it appears they are ready to clear some of the deadwood from their defence.
The German defender is expected to leave the club just 12 months after arriving from Red Bull Leipzig for a fee of £1.03million (per Transfermarkt), having made just one appearance for the Scottish giants.
In truth, the 33-year-old had struggled with injuries at the beginning, however, with questions having been raised about their options in defence at times, Brendan Rodgers has opted against using him when available.
It would hardly come as a surprise to learn that Compper could be on his way out after just 12 months at the club.
Even when he has been available, Rodgers has turned elsewhere and the 33-year-old does not appear to be a part of any future plans the Bhoys have.
However, it remains to be seen if a club will be willing to take him off their hands as he has not played competitive football for almost a year.
