Celtic will be desperate to return to winning ways later on today after drawing with Motherwell in their last Scottish Premiership outing.
The Hoops are set to welcome league leaders Kilmarnock to Celtic Park today in a match that could see Celtic return to the top of the table with a win. Interestingly, the opposition currently find themselves at the summit after the midweek fixtures, so Celtic will be looking to ruin Killy’s potential title push.
Sadly, the Hoops will be without their star man for today’s game, as according to The Sun’s pre-match team news, Dedryck Boyata is still out with a hamstring injury.
Dedryck Boyata, who is valued at £1.8 million (by Transfermarkt), remains out on the sidelines as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
This comes as a huge blow for Celtic as they would have loved to have the Belgian’s quality in their ranks for today’s crucial Scottish Premiership title clash against Kilmarnock.
Meanwhile, Kristoffer Ajer (fractured eye socket), Eboue Kouassi and Daniel Arzani (both knee) remain out and Nir Bitton is on the comeback trail following knee trouble.
Rodgers will be hoping to welcome the Belgian back at some point in the near future as he could be on his way out in the January transfer window, so they’ll want to get as much as they can out of him before then.
Celtic will need to be at their best to secure all three points against a tough Kilmarnock side later on today, as they run the risk of falling behind in the race.
