Celtic fans react to Kieran Tierney’s Europa League performance

Celtic supporters have been pretty happy in recent times after seeing their side get their Europa League group stage campaign off to winning start on Thursday night.

Brendan Rodgers’ men went into their opening fixture with Rosenborg at Parkhead off the back of drawing 0-0 with St Mirren in their most recent Scottish Premiership encounter, and thus seeking to get back to winning ways on Thursday. And while the Bhoys largely produced a below-par display at Celtic Park, they snatched a 1-0 win late on thanks to substitute Leigh Griffiths’ strike, in turn giving them the perfect start to their European campaign.

Thus, there have been many satisfied Celtic fans up and down the country in recent times, several of whom took to Twitter to praise the efforts of left back Kieran Tierney for his performance on Thursday night.

The 21-year-old came up through the ranks at Parkhead to make his senior debut for the club back in 2014, from which he has since added a further 142 appearances to underline just how important and integral he has been to Rodgers’ side in recent years.

And there was no doubt that the left back was the bright spark at Parkhead on Thursday in producing a masterclass down the left-hand-side both going forward and indeed defensively, a masterclass which stimulated a positive response from Celtic fans both during and indeed after the game on Twitter…
