Celtic: Fans revel in Marian Shved’s first goal for club - Celtic

A 2-0 win against Nomme Kalju saw Celtic progress through to the 3rd qualifying round for the Champions League, and Marian Shved’s goal was what took the headlines.

The summer signing scored the second goal of the evening to wrap up a 7-0 aggregate win for the Hoops as the Ukrainian winger’s stunning strike from distance got fans excited about what was to come from Shved this season.

Celtic signed Shved in the January transfer window but opted to loan the attacker out for the remainder of the 2018/19 season at Karpaty Lviv (per Celtic’s official website), and supporters were delighted to see the 22-year-old score his first goal for the club against Nomme Kalju.

Fans took to social media to celebrate the goal, and here are what some Celtic supporters had to say on Twitter…

Celtic now face Romanian club CFR Cluj in the next round of the Champions League qualifying round in the penultimate phase of qualification before the group stage for Europe’s elite competition.
