Rangers fans on Twitter loved their club’s gesture on Armed Forces Day

Rangers are a historic club that have years of history behind them and on Sunday they showed that they’ve got a touch of class too. Ahead of kick-off at Ibrox the club allowed two armed forces personnel representing the Royal Air Force to abseil into Ibrox and present the referee with the match ball. The fans loved seeing this and were proud to be a part of their club as this took place.

Sunday couldn’t have been much better for Rangers on the whole. After watching Celtic fall 2-1 at the hands of Kilmarnock, the Gers flooded into Ibrox to see Steven Gerrard’s side put on a show. The fans will have thoroughly enjoyed Sunday and will be keen for more of the Armed Forces to be involved at the club if it means they get to smash their opponents 5-1 every week.

The gesture from Rangers had class written all over it and the supporters are proud to be associated with the club. Steven Gerrard will have taken great pride in seeing the two members of the Armed Forces handing the match ball to the referee ahead of kick-off and then for his side to put on a show for them was just the icing on the cake. The 5-1 win also helped the Gers reach 2nd in the Scottish Premier League and the next step will be to usurp Hearts at the top.
