Rangers fans on Twitter loving life with Tavernier at the top of his game

This season has already been a long one for Rangers. Steven Gerrard’s side has already played a whopping 14 games this season and James Tavernier has played almost every minute so far. The 27-year-old is at the top of his game as he’s captained the Gers to a great start to the season and even chipped in with four goals and six assists along the way.

Next up for Tavernier and co is a tough away day in Spain. The Europa League group stages kick off this Thursday and Gerrard’s side has been drawn to face Villarreal away in their first game. The La Liga side will be the firm favourites for the clash but there’s no reason why The Gers can’t be optimistic and try and take the game to El Submarino Amarillo in what will be a great test for the Glaswegian side.

Tavernier will no doubt start that game with the captain’s armband on, as he has done in all but one of his side’s games so far this campaign. The season is always going to be a long one, especially when you have to start in July, but that won’t faze Tavernier who will be determined to give it his all at the club and try and usurp Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premier League.

The Gers are loving Tavernier’s superb form and will be keen to see him carry it on into the Villarreal clash in the week.
