Rangers fans on Twitter would have left Flanagan out on Wednesday

Jon Flanagan is a man who has somewhat reformed himself at Ibrox after a disappointing end to his career at Anfield. However, the Gers don’t understand why he keeps being fielded at left-back and would much rather see Borna Barisic drafted back in to play there.

The 25-year-old full-back is a right-back by trade but can, supposedly, be deployed on either side. Gerrard has taken a bit of a liking to putting the English full-back in on the left-hand side of his back four and the supporters are far from pleased with that. They’re not quite sure what the likes of Barisic or Andy Halliday have to do to get a start at left-back as Flanagan continues to look out of place away from right-back.

Even before the game on Wednesday night against Aberdeen, as soon as the lineup was announced the supporters were scratching their heads wondering why Stevie G continues to persist with the ex-Anfield man. After the midweek loss saw them drop to 2nd in the Scottish Premier League, the Gers will be desperate for Flanagan to be dropped to the bench for their trip to Dundee on Sunday as they aim to capitalise on either Kilmarnock or Celtic dropping points when they meet the day before.

You can see what the Bluenoses have had to say about Flanagan here:

The Gers weren’t happy to see Flanagan and the mood will be the same if the defender is thrown in against Dundee on Sunday.
