It was an afternoon to forget for Everton at Goodison Park as Ronald Koeman’s men were devestated by title-chasing Chelsea in the second half of a 3-0 defeat, leaving their supporters here in the Tavern a little underwhelmed!
Our Toffees-mad barman had expected his side to go on and win the game after a positive first half but an invigorated Chelsea really took the game to the home side after the break and three goals resulted in a comprehensive defeat for Koeman and his players.
If anything, it showed the class that Chelsea have in their ranks going forward but for the Toffees, it suggests that summer investment will be needed for the squad to improve going forward.
And as you can imagine after the match, there was plenty of opinion knocking around both here in the pub and online, with some Toffees fans not best pleased with what they saw.
