Sell, sell, sell: 2 Everton men who must be axed before Tuesday’s 11pm deadline

Everton are having a pretty decent season under new manager Ronald Koeman, and the Dutchman seems to have put his own stamp on the team at Goodison Park with some fairly positive results.

The Toffees are looking a good team, and have had some success in this transfer window, with our Toffees fans here in the Transfer Tavern looking a confident bunch.

Talk this week though over at the jukebox has not been about who else the club might bring in, but about who Koeman might look to move in before Tuesday’s deadline.

Some of the players in the Everton squad are not quite up to scratch it would seem for where the Toffees want to be, and their manager could well act now.

We think that the next few days could see a few Everton players leave Goodison, so with that in mind, here are TWO players who could be axed for Everton before Tuesday’s deadline…

Arouna Kone

The pacey striker has never quite been first choice at Goodison, and his cause wasn’t helped by his nasty injury a couple of seasons ago.

Now might be the right time to move on for Kone though, and he wouldn’t exactly be the biggest miss to Everton if he was sold.

Everton have better options up front, and Kone could well be deemed as surplus to requirements.

James McCarthy

The Irish midfielder has fallen out of favour this season and he might well seek a move away.

Koeman might grant his wish, and the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin has pushed McCarthy even further down the pecking order.

If the right bid comes in for the central midfielder, he could well be moved on.
