Manchester City are not having the best of seasons under Pep Guardiola, and the City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are cutting a frustrated bunch whenever we see them at the bar. 

More or less out of title race, the Spaniard has struggled to get the best out of his team and he will be looking to reshape the team in the summer, and possibly even before the end of the transfer window this week.

Our City fans over at the fruit machine have been discussing how Pep might make changes to his squad in the next 6 to 12 months, and one way that City could do this is by axing some of their ageing squad members.

Our landlord thinks that some City players will struggle to see out this transfer window, so with this in mind, we have taken a look at TWO Man City players who need to be axed before this weeks 11pm transfer deadline…

Jesus Navas

The Spanish winger has never been good enough for the level City want to be at,  and Guardiola could well look to move him on before this week is over.

Navas has never quite settled in Manchester and has failed to reproduce the form he showed for Sevilla many seasons ago.

He is definitely a player who could be moved on from the club, and it wouldn’t hurt the squad too much if he was either.

Gael Clichy

The French left back looks well past his sell by date and his best form is well behind him in our opinion.

Guardiola might well look to replace the former Arsenal man in the summer, but he may also choose to act now and get rid while there is a chance of getting some sort of fee for him.
