Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern trudged back in yesterday a gloomy bunch following a heavy defeat against London rivals Chelsea.
Some fans over at the pool table after the game were having a real moan. Complaining about certain players not pulling their weight and putting in the type of performances one would expect to see.
The Gunners have slipped further away from the title race and now look set to miss out again as Chelsea romp away with it.
However, there are those players in the Arsenal squad who consistently do their job and perhaps don’t get the praise they deserve. Players who put a shift in, or simply do their job.
With this in mind, here’s TWO Arsenal players who deserve a bit more respect and recognition…
Nacho Monreal

Spanish left back Monreal is a real model of consistency for the Gunners, and has been for the past 18 months or so.
Monreal simply gets on with his job and puts in steady performances week by week.
Arsene Wenger trusts his left back and he is one of the first names on the team sheet these days at the Emirates.
Petr Cech

The big keeper is always a top performer, often making hard saves look like routine stops to bail out his defence on occasion.
Cech has bags of experience in the Premier League and was an impressive capture when he moved from Chelsea a few seasons ago.
The ‘keeper is one of the most consistent players for the Gunners, and perhaps deserves a little bit more credit for his role.
