Sheffield Wednesday will begin life without Jos Luhukay with a home encounter against Preston North End on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls have been struggling in the Championship recently, with results being extremely poor, which led to the decision to dismiss the Dutchman.

Lee Bullen will take over the day-to-day running of the club until a new manager is appointed and will oversee their game against Preston.

However, according to a match preview by Sky Sports, it does not appear that things will be easy for the caretaker.

Sheffield Wednesday will continue to be without Barry Bannan, as he serves the second game of his two-match ban.

The Scotland international has picked up ten yellow cards already this season, forcing him to sit out of the match.

The Hillsborough outfit, who have a number of long-term absentees, will also be without Fernando Forestieri as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

The Verdict:

Sheffield Wednesday will be looking for things to improve immediately improve on the pitch following the dismissal of Luhukay.

The Owls currently find themselves in a precarious position near the foot of the table and will want to see performances and results to get better.

Having the likes of Bannan and Forestieri out will not help Bullen as they will come as a big setback to their chances on Saturday.
