Many Sheffield Wednesday fans have revealed what they think of manager Garry Monk via social media platform Twitter.
The 41-year-old arrived at Hillsborough in 2019, replacing Steve Bruce, who departed the club to join Premier League Newcastle United.
The former defender quickly took to life with the Owls, seeing his side produce some consistently good form for the first six months of the Championship season. However, despite such good form which saw Wednesday sat in the play-off places at one stage, Monk’s side have struggled since the turn of 2020.

Sitting 15th in the league standings, the Yorkshire side now find themselves looking more likely to be involved in a relegation battle than a promotion one.
Over 35 games in charge of Wednesday, Monk has now lost 14 and won 12, drawing the other nine games and that has left fans of the club with a varied opinion on the former Swansea City manager.
Monk will be keen to get back to football and look to improve his side’s form, before a summer of change that will see no less than 17 players with contracts coming to an end.
Reacting to @Owlstalk’s tweet asking fans on their opinion of Monk, fans responded:

Got to give him chance, we started off ok but the wheels came off after Xmas that said we were never good enough to maintain 3rd place, he needs to be given chance to have a clear out bring in his own players then give him 6 months before judging him

The concern is that we have no money and will rely on loan players.
Letting the likes of FF, BB, AR go to balance the books will rip the heart from the team an I have zero confidence in Monk being able to get around the current recruitment brigade.

A yes man

The downturn in players form, has coincided with Monk’s arrival.
I’ve never thought him as the right man for the job and his inability to effectively manage or the players unwillingness to play a defensive style has resulted in this downward spiral.
This break won’t fix anything.— Graeme Walker (@GraemeWalker20) April 15, 2020
