In a recent fitness update, Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk has highlighted the fact that making controversial decisions is just part of his job.
Speaking to the media, including Dom Howson of Yorkshire Live, the Owls boss has provided a fitness update on Keiren Westwood and Sam Hutchinson.
“He has a shoulder injury,” the manager explained when talking about the goalkeeper. “Speaking to the medical guys, he is coming more and more back to full health now.
“In terms of his return to fitness, I think he is still a little bit of a way off that.” Westwood hasn’t made a senior appearance for the Owls since November (via Transfermarkt).

Switching the topic of conversation to Hutchinson, Monk went on to explain why he has made certain decisions surrounding the squad choices. The 30-year-old was dropped from the team for nine consecutive matches before the Championship was called to a halt.
“As I’ve said before, I have to make decisions on what I feel moving forward and for the best of the club,” the Wednesday manager said. “I have to make decisions that not everybody agrees with or likes, and that’s part of my job.”
Monk hasn’t had the Owls fans on his side for the majority of this season, after the club suffered a dramatic dip in form and slipped down the table. Many Wednesday supporters have slammed the 41-year-old on social media for his seemingly poor influence at the hilt of the team.
The Yorkshire outfit will look to improve on their 15th place position as they gear up to resume where they left off in the Championship. Monk could soon have more pivotal decisions to make.
