Sheffield Wednesday have made their first summer move by extending Joey Pelupessy’s current deal with the club.
Joe Crann has reported that the Owls have offered the 27-year-old an extra year on his current contract, meaning he will stay in Sheffield until 2021.
Pelupessy first signed for Wednesday back in 2018 from Netherlands-based side Heracles Almelo (via BBC Sport). The Dutch midfielder has made a total of 71 appearances for the Owls but has managed to score just one goal and assisted three (via Transfermarkt).
Should Sheffield Wednesday sign Lyle Taylor?
A lot of Wednesdayites aren’t impressed with the announcement of a new contract for Pelupessy, with one fan commenting saying: ‘Haven’t we suffered enough already?’ The midfielder hasn’t set the league alight this season, making just 12 appearances and being left out of the squad completely on 12 occasions.
Haven't we suffered enough already?

Another supporter has commented saying ‘He’s offered us absolutely nothing’, as they reflect on his poor form across his two years with the club.
Love to know the thinking behind this…….. he’s offered us absolutely nothing.
