Sheffield Wednesday: Tony Pulis reveals trio have received contract offers

Many Sheffield Wednesday fans are reacting to the latest comments from manager Tony Pulis in which he revealed that new contracts have been offered to three players at the club.
Tony Pulis was speaking in his press conference before the huge game against Barnsley. He said: “We have offered new contracts to Barry, Reachy and Lees. They are important players for this football club and it’s important the club can tie them down. They are terrific lads and I have been impressed with them.”
This has not received the reaction from the fan base that Pulis was perhaps expecting, with many thinking it would have been best for the Owls to move on from these players.
Barry Bannan, Adam Reach and Tom Lees have been great servants for the club, racking up 675 appearances between them (Transfermarkt), but with the position of the club in the league right now, it seems like some new blood is needed to reignite the Owls.
Even if they did not have the points deduction, they would still be sitting in the bottom five of the Championship so something needs to change, and with a new manager not making much difference, it could be an issue with the quality the club has.
Here is what Owls fans said following this news:
I don’t see the three of them as the way forward. Need a fresher feel, we’ve become stagnant. Imo.

They’ve been terrific servants to the club but that squad needs freshening up, reach has had a couple of good games recently but on the whole he’s been poor, bannan looks lost, is terrible at set pieces, and seems to disappear in big games, interesting to see if they re-sign 🤷🏼♂️

Why?! Stinks of Bruce coming in and handing out new deals to Palmer and Westwood when both should have been released. No long term strategy at #swfc at all. Most Short sighted team at this level. https://t.co/qgUSfxfdJ6
