The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have gained some renewed hope that Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele could be staying at the club after the defender posted a picture of the two in Belgium training on Twitter.

Whilst a Twitter post is little to go off, the fans are taking hope from anywhere at the moment as they can’t even think about life without their Belgian duo of Alderweireld and Dembele. The pair could both be hopping on a plane and leaving the club this summer with Dembele expected to complete a move to China and Alderweireld potentially joining one of the clubs top-four rivals, Manchester United.
With this post going up though, the fans have been lulled into thinking that the pair might have just one more year left in them at the club, even if that year would come at a great financial loss considering the clause in Alderwiereld’s contract. The club can cash in on the defender this summer and get a fee upwards of £50 million, however, next summer he will be entering his final year at the club on his current deal and could leave for a fee of just £25 million on a release clause that would be activated.

The Spurs fans in the Tavern really don’t want to lose either of their Belgian stars, and will take tweets like this from Alderweireld very seriously until something is set in stone on the pairs future.
