The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have piled in with their opinions on the dire situation that Aston Villa have found themselves in, with a number of fans looking at the Villains’ squad to see who they’d pinch. Aston Villa have a large wage bill and look destined to fail FFP, with administration a real possibility for the Birmingham club.
Re: Aston Villa. Was told last week that they're willing to listen to offers for virtually every player. Does sound like hard times ahead. Not the only Championship club feeling the pinch.

Whilst Aston Villa looks to be facing troubling times ahead, the Leeds fans propping our bar up truly understand what they’re going through. The Whites suffered a similar fate when they were relegated from the Premier League back in 2004, spending some time in League One before eventually finding stability in the Championship, where they’ve now been for eight years.
With Villa teetering on the edge of bankruptcy and the club desperate for cash wherever they can find it, The Whites have been having a good look at their squad for who they’d take on the cheap. On paper, Aston Villa have one of the Championship’s strongest squads with the likes of Jonothan Kodjia, James Chester, Jack Grealish and Albert Adomah all quality players who will be looking to move on.
You can read our local Leeds fans’ thoughts on Villa’s crisis situation here:
There needs to be a review of FFP parachute payments. Nothing fair about it. Instead clubs in Prem should be forced to include clauses wrt what will happen if they go down – lower payments – automatic transfer etc. No other industry would give them extra money for failure

Would take advantage and raid them for Jedinak and Grealish. Also one less promotion contender. Laaarrvely

Do you gamble in the second year of parachutes if you don't go up or do you be pragmatic and sort your squad out (fix the roof when the sun is shining) in 2nd year so as not to have all manner of problems in 3rd (even if you don't go up). That will be an issue for Boro, I reckon.
