While Celtic fans here in The Transfer Tavern may have raised their glasses to the contribution of Moussa Dembele this season, after a 32 goal haul, they all recognise that they don’t just have one elite striker at the club – they have two!
Leigh Griffiths has struggled for regular football under Brendan Rodgers at time at the Hoops, more often than not having to settle for a place on the bench when both him and Dembele are fully fit.
However, he’s still been a big part of the story at the Hoops over the last 12 months, scoring 18 goals and scoring in every tie of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
Now he’s been at it with Scotland, scoring an incredible double in Saturday’s massive clash with England at Hampden Park. His two free-kicks were supreme and turned around a 1-0 deficit in the dying minutes of a dramatic encounter.
While Gareth Southgate’s men may have eventually equalised and broken Scottish hearts, it was the contribution of Celtic’s man that had everyone talking in the aftermath.
Supporters took to Twitter to discuss Griffiths and his wonderful efforts to secure victory…
Thought Leigh Griffiths work rate and link-up płay was superb. Would have been speaking about his goals for years had we held on

Superb technical execution on both of those #Griffiths freekicks. Didn't over hit them & had great control. #Repetition

That's a brilliant brace of goals by Leigh Griffiths. Took him a while to score for his country but what a pair of stonkers!

Leigh Griffiths was way better than Moussa Dembele. He is just so damn underrated for Celtic.
