The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in The Daily Mail that claims they are one of three Premier League clubs chasing the signature of Schalke’s young star, Donis Advijaj. The Kosovan international is 21-years-old and hasn’t hit the heights expected of him at the Arena AufSchalke, leading the German club to attempt to cash in on him this summer before his deal expires in 2019.
Everton, #NUFC and Huddersfield are among the clubs in pursuit of Kosovo international Donis Avdijaj. Schalke are prepared to sell Avdijaj this summer for a fee of £2.5million. The Bundesliga club are ready to cash-in before his contract expires next summer. [Daily Mail]

Advijaj was touted to follow in the footsteps of Mesut Ozil, Julian Draxler and Max Meyer and go from Schalke’s academy setup into the senior squad. However, his stunted progress has seen him struggle recently and a number of loans have ensued. The player has been on-loan to Eredivisie side, Roda for the second half of the season just gone, where he played 11 games since his temporary January switch, scoring three goals in the process.
Now though, Domenic Tedesco is prepared to cash in on the midfielder a year before his contract expires, with Huddersfield, Everton and Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle all in for the midfielder who has a reported price tag of around £2.5 million. If the Kosovan international does up stakes and join the Premier League, he’ll be hoping he can regain some of his suitors and show that the player he was touted to be is still in there and that the change of scenery can help him fulfil his potential.

Sounds world class

Well, he wasn't amazing at relegated side Roda JC in Netherlands, so don't see him adding anything to the NUFC squad….

Hopefully we will be able to compete with Huddersfield's spending this coming transfer window… Their net spend doubled ours in 2017/18 #nufc

Only 21… small forward… might be an inexpensive alternative to the two big strikers we have….
