Spain’s Golden Girl In Full Colour

Although I confess my Spanish is not what it once was, I can confirm that the whole of Spain is talking about the relationship between Iker Casillas and Sara Carbonero.

Basically Iker is hero worshipped in Spain owing to his captaining the national side to the European Championships in 2008, whilst Sara is the golden girl of Spanish sports television. A comparative relationship in England would be the union of Frank Lampard and that bird off the ‘One Show’ on BBC One, Christine Bleakley, or if Georgie Thompson were to come to her senses, dump Dec, and hook up with national treasure Michael Dawson.

Iker was known to be in a long term, on-off relationship with Eva Gonzalez for many years, with many Spanish women cursing the 2003 Miss. España as a scarlet woman. However, apparently, Iker cut Gonzalez loose in January 2009, and is now rocking the Spanish speaking world by forming a celebrity super-couple with Miss. Carbonero.

The couple apparently met in South Africa during last summer’s Confederations Cup, but now the pair have gone public with their relationship after months of speculation. However, whilst this is apparently a big deal in Spain, our interest in the relationship is purely aesthetic, in so much as Miss. Carbonero is absolutely bleedin’ gorgeous. Here’s a few pictures of the lovely Spanish beauty.

A few pharses come to mind… Phwoar! Cor blimey! Sort!

Come on Sara, I love pasta too! We could be great together. Dump that good for nothing internationally acclaimed golakeeper, move to England and come to Pizza Express with me this Saturday night! No? Ok. Well Georgie Thompson’s nicer than you anyway.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
