Having progressed into the semi-finals of the FA Cup at Millwall’s expense yesterday, the Tottenham Hotspur fans are happy once again, despite the fact Harry Kane limped off injured.
While the aren’t as prevalent in the title race this season as they were last time, our north London locals are once again enjoying life under Mauricio Pochettino and reports from the Daily Mirror have only furthered excitement in the buildup to a big summer on Hotspur Way.
They claim Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is emerging as the club’s No.1 transfer target following his run of good form under Ronald Koeman, who is reportedly still unsure about the England international. He’s been dropped a few times by the Dutchman this season and has less than 18 months to run on his deal on Merseyside.
With that in mind, Spurs are said to be keen on bringing the marauding midfielder to London this summer and the 23-year-old could command a fee of around £30m or more in the summer. Interestingly, Spurs midfielder Moussa Sissoko (who was strongly linked with Everton in the summer) has been touted as a potential player exchange in the report.
Barkley has had a difficult time of things in recent months, though our resident Spurs fans are desperate to see him arrive in north London.
Would Barkley improve Spurs? Let us know below…
