The Toon Army here in the Tavern are preparing their goodbyes as hopefully a whole host of dead weight set for a transfer window exit. 

Newcastle have been caught in the middle of a whirlwind last couple of seasons, being dragged from the Premier League to the slums of the Championship, then forcing a revival back up to the top flight.

But since Benitez has begun his reign in the Premier League, things have looked ever the more appealing for Newcastle fans, having built the foundations of not only surviving relegation, but also challenging the middle half of the table.

This Spanish mastermind has certainly dived into his array of tactical and managerial knowledge in his time on Tyneside so far, creating the ability to get the best out of certain players while building a tactical standpoint in setting his team up in the correct way to bring about a result.

However, over the last few match-days, Benitez and his men have been on the crushing end of 3 defeats in a row against; Manchester United, Burnley and Bournemouth, in fixtures they should have easily taken something from.

With a heap of rubble caving in around St. James’ Park, a possible saviour could be just over a month away, with the January transfer window edging ever closer. After the club was put on the market by Mike Ashley, reports have suggested that businesswoman Amanda Staveley’s consortium have placed a £300 million bid for the club, as she looks to become to takeover at the Toon.

So for a club that could potentially have an excessive amount of money to spend on January signings, here’s a look at THREE players who will possibly make way…

Mohamed Diamé

The Senegalese international played a pivotal part in the Premier League sides conquer of the Championship, making the best use of his stride length to patrol and dominate the centre of the park.

Diame has been a missing figure both on and off the field, due to Benitez seeing fit to leave him on the bench, and his numbers have shown he just doesn’t put in a performance that warrants a regular place.

Sadly, this may spell the end of the road for the midfielder with a bench place already becoming a normality, plus the already inevitable opportunity to welcome more players to the club, it’s beginning to show grim reading for the Diame.

Aleksandar Mitrovic

Mitrovic has hit a stump in his career since joining the Magpies back in 2015.

United’s striker has only made a rather embarrassing 1 start and 3 bench appearances for the club, in what has been a real low for the Serbian.

Seemingly heavily out of favour under Benitez has been mainly down to him turning his attention to the services of Joselu, even though the latter has arguably been performing to a lower standard.

Chancel Mbemba

Former Anderlecht central defender Chancel Mbemba was a revelation on the defensive end of things last time out in the lower division, controlling the back-line and barking orders in a well drilled Newcastle defence.

One year later, and the DR Congo international has struggled to find a way into the side, heavily influenced by the rise in form of the experienced Ciaran Clark mixed with club captain Jamal Lascelles understandably staking his claim on the side.
