Steven Gerrard provides positive injury update

Rangers have had a number of injury concerns recently, however, it appears some of those will be starting to ease up fairly shortly.

Steven Gerrard has seen a number of his players sidelined recently, and as the games start to come thick-and-fast, he will be delighted to see many of them starting to make their returns.

Speaking to the club’s official website, he revealed that the likes of Ryan Kent and Borna Barisic are edging closer to being included once again.

Talking about Kent, he said: “The international break has come at a good time for Ryan Kent because he has had ten days to two weeks without any games at a really important stage of a hamstring injury.

“He is probably now a couple of weeks away, hopefully, if everything keeps moving the way it has been because he is doing really well. He is out on the pitch doing some jogging so he progressing really well.”

About Barisic, he added: “Borna is very close; whether he is available for the weekend we will make a decision in the next couple of days. But over the next two or three games, Borna will be back in the squad.”

The Verdict:

Although the duo are unlikely to feature against Livingston when the Scottish Premiership resumes at the weekend, the nearing return of the pair will be a huge boost for Rangers.

Barisic has not been able to play since the end of September with his calf problem and had looked a promising signing for the Light Blues.

Kent has been an integral part of Gerrard’s side this season and has been extremely impressive with his performances and fans will be delighted to hear he is working his way back to contention.
