As reported by The Daily Mail, Everton have suffered a huge blow to their season with Yannick Bolasie being ruled out for the campaign thanks to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The news has come as another kick in the teeth for our resident Toffees fans here in the Transfer Tavern who are feeling blue, ironically, with the way things have panned out in recent months.
Whilst the start of the season offered a lot of hope around Goodison Park that the good times were back under new manager Ronald Koeman, that now seems a long time ago.
As the nights have drawn in, the sparkle has gone out of the Toffees’ attacking play and they’ve embarked on a miserable run since the middle of September.
Another draw at the weekend saw them end the round of fixtures behind West Brom in the table as Bolasie’s injury marred their late equaliser against Manchester United.
Scans revealed the severity of the injury earlier this week and he now seems set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines as he recovers.
