Sunderland: Fans fume at Lee Johnson claim on Stewart Donald
Plenty of Sunderland fans have been left fuming fter Lee Johnson was full of praise for Stewart Donald whilst speaking on talkSPORT.
Speaking to the sports radio station (via Mark Donnelly), the newly-appointed head coach of the Black Cats said:
“I had a very good chat with Stewart Donald and found him a very, very good man. His heart is in the right place, he loves the football club. The ownership group has got a very defined plan.”
Many supporters at the Stadium of Light have not had the best relationship with Donald ever since he became the owner of the Wearside club, and so these comments from Johnson have seemingly wound some of them up.

With the new takeover of SAFC reportedly just around the corner from now, a lot of fans will surely be happy to see that Donald is handing over his majority share of the club.
Sunderland are currently lingering in ninth place in the EFL League One table at the moment and will hope that the bounce of a new manager and change of ownership will get them back to the big time as soon as humanly possible.
