Sunderland: Fans react to injury update on key duo

Many Sunderland fans are reacting to the latest comments from new manager Lee Johnson. He has provided an injury update regarding the status of both Denver Hume and Charlie Wyke.
The club tweeted that Denver Hume is injured and will miss the EFL Trophy game against Oldham. However, the news isn’t all bleak as Charlie Wyke will return to the squad.
Johnson said:
“Denver picked up a hamstring problem and my guesstimate is that he will be out for three to four weeks with that. I’ve spoken to Charlie today, I really like him, he is a good player and I’m looking forward to getting him back and trying to get the best out of him, so he will be in the squad tomorrow.”
Defender Hume has had a very solid start to the season and he will be sorely missed whilst he is out injured. In his 13 League One appearances, he has helped keep the Black Cats five clean sheets (Transfermarkt). He has also been helping out offensively as well, picking up three assists so far.
These Sunderland fans took to Twitter to discuss the injury to Hume, and it’s fair to say that the response was mixed.
Here are some of the tweets reacting to the news.

I’ve never known a club to be plagued by injuries more than Sunderland. Not just in league one either, seems like every season we have half the first team injured at the same time https://t.co/pe8rlaHMqJ

Good chance for McFadzean to take and keep the shirt. Odd one tomorrow, Johnson will likely want to use it as a chance to look at his options but also not take too many risks. https://t.co/TkTZDdm06O
